Chokoloskee Island in the Everglades Rivers 38-40

Heading south during spring in Florida is a great idea! Typically, less bugs and when it’s quite chilly in the northern part of the state, it’s a bit warmer south. This theory worked for us and the entire experience was one for the history books.

The journey was a little more than three hours and since it was spring break, we had time to spare. Headed down we took all backroads and as we neared The Everglades there was plenty of gators to see as we drove through the panther refuge.

Our spot was tight at the Chokoloskee Island resort, yet we made the most of it. Having the marine on-site with big decking for fishing was a huge plus. Overall, the fishing was great and once we figured out the tides, it was easier to get around though man did it get shallow!
